Wow! We had SUCH an unforgettable weekend at the New Jersey Beyond The Stars Dance Competition!
Several dancers and teachers represented Addicted 2 Dance at the annual weekend-long competition, held in Millstone, NJ on February 5-7.
A2D entered 45 competitive numbers, consisting of 74 company dancers ranging in age from six to 18. And every single dancer left the judges and crowd stunned!
The dance pieces were choreographed by our talented director, Miss Aubrey, along with the following faculty members: Miss Aleah, Miss Ashley, Miss Jessica, Miss Denise, Mr. Josh, Miss Kim, and Miss Mariah. We also featured a self-improvisation choreography piece by one of our senior dancers, Lydia Ciaffone.
It was a high energy, exciting weekend to say the least!
Some of the highlights from the weekend include special awards, multiple placements in the Top 3, and invitations to Beyond The Stars National’s opening number!
Here are some of the awards received by our amazing dancers and instructors:
- Addicted 2 Dance Company won “Diamond,” “Platinum,” and “High Gold” trophies
- Miss Mariah’s Hip Hop Trio “Bad Boys” received the “Pop and Lock “award. The trio featured Karli Cottom, Emily Cohen and Nora Elliot
- Mr. Josh’s Jazz Solo, “Move,” featuring Talia Weston received the “Excellent Energy Award”

- Miss Aleah herself also won the Choreography Award of the entire weekend for her contemporary piece, “USED,” featuring Hannah Poison, Gabrielle Katz, Maria Fatiga, Sophia Shahin, and Talia Weston. We are SO PROUD of Miss Aleah!!! Congratulations!
Finally, the very last award of the evening was awarded to Miss Aubrey Conley, our leader and head “A2D Mom.” She was presented with the “Association of Dance Convention and Competition, ADCC Award” as the “Studio of Excellence Winner.” This award is extremely honorable, as it is the highest award a studio can win. The award represents the overall talent, positivity, kindness, and true sportsmanship that our dance studio models every day.
We are very proud of ALL of our company dancers, as well as our talented teachers. A special thank you to all of the dance moms, dads, and prop transporters for their help in making this weekend run smoothly. These kids can’t do it without you!
Congratulations to A2D. Looking forward to our March 19th Competition in King of Prussia! For more great pictures, check out our album on Facebook!
