“Miss Heather” Dougherty is a dance artist and educator whose work is influenced and informed by the investigation of both classical ballet and modern dance forms.
She began her studies as a child at Olin Kearse School of Ballet in Ambler and holds a Bachelor of Science in Dance and Dance Education from New York University and a Master of Fine Arts in Theater Arts/Dance from the University of Arizona.
She has danced professionally, taught, and presented her own choreography at venues and dance festivals in the US and abroad and has previously taught dance at the University of Arizona in Tucson AZ, CUNY’s Queensborough Community College in Bayside, NY, Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA, Middlesex County College in Edison, NJ, and Dance One Studios in Douglassville, PA. Dougherty is currently a faculty member of the Dance Program at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, PA.
