Happy Valentine’s Day, A2D Dancers & Dance Families!!!
We have a lot going on this month,
and many important announcements to pass along.
****It is VERY important that all students make all their classes unless missing is absolutely necessary! The instructors are now working with their classes on recital routines. When students are missing, not only does it make choreographing and blocking VERY difficult, but the following class is spent catching up the missing students, delaying progress.****
1. Costumes are arriving and we have begun passing them out. Unpaid costumes will be held at A2D until full payment has been made.
2. There are NO classes on Monday, February 20 in observance of President’s Day.
3. Miss Karen’s Tap classes on Saturday, February 25 will run at 2:00 & 3:00 pm instead of 9:00 & 10:00 am.
4. Saturday, February 25, we will be holding a Mock Competition with our Company Dancers. Please note, if you are a Saturday family, that the studio will be VERY busy. Studio A, the dancer’s lounge and the dressing room will be used for dancers to change. The mock competition will be held in Studio 2 beginning at 9:00 am.
5. Saturday, February 25 is also the date of the A2D Sleepover! We have room for additional dancers to take part in this fun night at the studio! Drop off is at 7:00 pm, pickup at 9:00 am Sunday. The night will be filled with games, music, dancing, movies, snacks & pizza. Donuts and juice will be available Sunday morning. $25/Dancer. All female dancers from the studio are welcome! Sign up at the front desk.
6. Please mark your calendars for the following dates:
Mid April – Recital Tickets Sale Begins (details coming soon)
Saturday, May 5 – A2D Picture Day (age pre-combo thru 7)
Sunday, May 6 – A2D Picture Day (age 8+)
Tuesday, May 15 – Picture Proof Day (1:30-8:00 pm)
Wednesday, May 16 – Picture Proof Day (4-8:00 pm)
Saturday, June 2 – Dress Rehearsal, Abington Senior High Auditorium
Saturday, June 9 – A2D Recitals (11:30 & 3:00)
7. Recital Ads, Picture Shout Outs & Written Shout Outs for Recital Program – forms available at the front desk. Remember, the dancer who sells the most ads appears on the FRONT page of the program & recital DVDs, plus FOUR front row tickets to the show of their choice.
8. The second round of costumes have been ordered for dancers who registered after the initial costume order, or who have changed classes. The arrival dates for these costumes is between April 15 and May 15. We are hoping to have all costumes before pictures, but a few may not come in time.
NO more class changing is available at this point. Any new students entering may take classes, but will not be able to participate in the 2012 Recital.
9. After this week, there are no more make-up classes available for missed classes (taking your class on another day because of sickness, etc.). The classes are all now into learning the recital routines, and having an outside student delays this progress.
10. Summer intensive sign ups are being taken at the front desk. Dancers may register for any or all of the three week camp, beginning July 9. Classes will run daily from 9:00 am-3:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. Don’t miss out on this chance to improve your skills and try new classes this summer!
