Competition Heats Up For A2D Company Dancers!
For competitive dancers like our talented group at Addicted 2 Dance (A2D) in Ambler, Spring brings more than nicer temperatures and blooming flowers. In the dance world, spring is dance season! Over the last five months, A2D dancers have prepared and perfected their routines and will compete alongside dozens of other schools from the tri-state area in a series of events.
This weekend marks the beginning of the 2012 Competition Season for the A2D Company Dancers. The Philadelphia Convention Center will host the New York City Dance Alliance (NYCDA) where half of A2D’s prepared routines will compete. NYCDA combines the format of a convention, where dancers ranging from 6-19 plus several A2D instructors take dance classes all day and take part in scholarship auditions with competition, which takes place in the evening.
Dancers then have back-to-back competitions to finish out the month of March. The first competition displaying all 28 A2D Company routines comes at the StarQuest Competition held in Lancaster, PA. The following weekend, the team heads to the Philadelphia Airport Marriott for the Turn It Up Dance Competition.
